Prayer Meeting

“When you gather, each of you can take part with a song, a teaching, or a revelation, by speaking in tongues or interpreting what has been said in tongues. But let this build up the church”(1Corinthians14:26).
A prayer meeting is charismatic when the participants freely respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and use the prayer gifts, including charisms chosen for them by the Holy Spirit.
Charismatic Prayer is spontaneous and personal in words and gestures. Lead by the Spirit people suggest songs, share bible verses, and testify about God in life-changing experiences. Elevated praise and worship are active and wholehearted.
At the weekly meetings members develop an openness to God and a closeness to each other. An initial handshake becomes a hug. Prayer support is shown in the ‘laying on of hands’ and in prayer requests for family and friends.
“In everything resort to prayer and supplication together with thanksgiving and bring your requests before God”(Phillipians 4:6).
Since 1986, St. Monica’s Prayer Meeting has been open to the public.
We welcome the opportunity to accompany you on your journey
